Shawn has studied sea otters in Washington state for more than twenty years. Participate in scientific conversations about the importance of sea otters to local kelp ecosystems. This location requires hiking an hour each way on the Ozette boardwalk trail to and from the beach on both Saturday and Sunday.
Campers are invited to meet at the Lost Resort campground on Friday after 5pm or Saturday at 10 am, and will leave the station around 2 pm on Sunday.
When we finished the 3 mile hike from the Ozette Ranger Station to the beach we could see the ocean and were amazed to see a huge ‘raft’ of sea otters over 300 animals! It was amazing and the biggest raft I have seen there in the 20 plus years I’ve been going out to Sandpoint!
