Sleep under the trees in the amazing Olympic National Forest! Prepare for your 2-day or 3-day trip and get your questions answered at a pre-trip meeting with your two expert guides. Be ready for full days of hiking and exploring, rain or shine. Wild Society guides will teach you the backpacking basics and build your backcountry confidence! Learn how to adjust your pack, set up a tent, build a rain shelter, and cook in the backcountry. You will leave with an understanding of leave no trace principles, wildlife safety, and weather preparedness.

Registration includes a pre-trip meeting with your guides, backpacking permits, dinner on the trail, maps, packing list, and expert guides trained in wilderness medicine. Gear loans and scholarships are available. Participants must provide their own transportation but carpools may be arranged. This class involves hiking 4-6 miles over uneven terrain and carrying a heavy pack, participants should be in appropriate physical condition.
Build community with new friends looking to spend their weekends outside. This is a safe and comfortable space for those female identifying to learn backcountry skills together. Expect stories around the campfire, a morning stretch by the river, and engaging trail conversations. We look forward to adventuring with you!
